Renovated in 2006, PRIMA has as many as 360 rooms and is open round the clock. It is located in a quiet area of Latgale Suburb, only 15 minutes from the city centre, the Railway Station and Old Town.

It is 15 minute walk from ‘Mols’ and ‘Azur’ shopping malls, and the recreation and catering complex ‘Lido’ where you can taste traditional Latvian dishes.

The hostel offers single and double rooms with toilets shared by 2 rooms; single and double-bunk beds; cable internet connection. Each floor has kitchen facilities and a lounge.

How to get to PRIMA?

By car

Coming from the city centre, first, get to the Railway Station Square, and then drive through the tunnel between ‘Stockmann’ shopping mall and the Central Railway station away from the centre. Stick to the main road and follow trolleybus route No. 15. The landmarks are Gogoļa Street, the crossroad of Gogoļa and Lāčplēša Streets (continue straight ahead), Sadovņikova Street, Ludzas Street. Then turn right into Lomonosova Street, pass a ‘Supernetto’ outlet on your right at the first traffic light, and turn left into Rēznas Street after the second traffic light. Drive 50m along Rēznas Street, and then turn right. There is the driveway to PRIMA, two light grey 9-floor buildings.

Driving from the airport, Jūrmala or Bauska, cross the ‘Salu tilts’ bridge, continue to the first crossroad (Gogoļa Street), turn right and follow trolleybus route No. 15. The landmarks are Sadovņikova Street, Ludzas Street. Turn right into Lomonosova Street, at the first traffic light you will see a ‘Supernetto’ outlet on your right, turn left into Rēznas Street straight after the second traffic light. Drive 50m along Rēznas Street, and then turn right. There is the driveway to a light grey 9-floor building – hostel PRIMA.

Coming from Daugavpils, it is easier to get to the Central Railway Station and follow the above mentioned instructions.

By public transport

Go through the Central Railway Station to the trolleybus route No. 15 stop called ‘Centrāltirgus’ (the next after ‘Latvijas Universitāte’ stop and the railway station stop). The trolleybus goes in Ķengarags direction. Get off at the 6th stop – ‘Rēznas Street’ (Dzirnavu Street, Katoļu Street, Mazā Kalna Street, Viļānu Street, Lomonosova Street, Rēznas Street).

The second option is to take minibus route No. 216. Ask the driver to stop at Rēznas Street. After getting off, cross Lomonosova Street (trolleybuses run along this Street). Then go ahead for 50m and turn right – you will see two light grey 9-floor buildings – hostel PRIMA.

The third option is to go by tram routes No. 3, 7 or 9. The stop to get on is ‘Centrāltirgus’, it is close to the Central Bus Station. Get off at the 8th stop ‘Lubānas iela’ (Maskavas Street, Turgeņeva Street, Elijas Street, Katoļu Street, Daugavpils Street, Mazā Kalna Street, Balvu Street, Lubānas Street). After getting off, cross Maskavas Street (trams run along this Street). Go straight ahead for 50m and turn right. You will see a light grey 9-floor building in front of you – hostel PRIMA.

Going from the conference venue, the University of Latvia main building, 19 Raina Blvd., you can get to the hostel by  trolleybus route No. 15. The stop is located on Inženieru Street near the main building of the University. Get off at the 8th stop ‘Rēznas iela’ and then follow the above instructions (follow the map to reach the destination).

You can buy tram and trolleybus e-tickets at kiosks. A single trip costs 0.60 EUR. If you carry baggage, it is necessary to buy additional two e-tickets. You can also buy e-tickets from tram/trolleybus drivers; single trip costs 1.20 EUR. The minibus fare is 1.00 EUR (baggage fare should be separately agreed with the driver). E-tickets for a fixed period of time or for a certain number of trips are also available.
